The McPhees have been supplying fish to Glasgow since 1948, however the family link to fishing goes all the way back to 1767 in the Faroe Islands where Jack McPhee’s forefather Anthonius Haraldsen first caught and salted cod for export.
Tom McPhee opened his first fresh fish shop on Stockwell Street in 1948, and it became a Glasgow institution with the now famous phrase “Straight from the sea to T.C. McPhee!”
T.C. McPhee became Jack McPhee and we expanded beyond Glasgow, supplying the rest of Britain, Europe, and eventually as far afield as Asia with Scottish sea food.
Now you too can enjoy the highest quality fish cooked to perfection in our very own restaurant, and we are confident you will agree that it is indeed, “Fresh from the Sea to Jack McPhee”.
